Fans On The Run - Simon Weitzman (Ep. 44)
Is it time for a new episode of FoTR already? Yes it is! Today I had the pleasure to have a chat with author, documentarian, and all around creative type Simon Weitzman! As it tends to happen with this show, we jump around all over the place with this conversation; the revival of the mixtape, déjà vu, working with Tom Murray on the book about the "Mad Day Out" photo shoot, a burning question of mine about The Small Faces and the live satellite broadcast of "All You Need Is Love", déjà vu, exploring the BFI archives on the movie "Help!", the act of wearing one's needle out playing Rubber Soul, comparing the big international Beatle gatherings, a startling claim about "Revolution 9", "Ferris Bueler's Day Off", the compassion of the Beatles community, the genesis of the "Here There and Everywhere" documentary, and my seeming contractual obligation to mention Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich at least once per episode.
This episode is available to stream wherever good podcasts can be heard!
